The International Persian Language Summer School JULY 2025 will be held at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, Serbia.
Course Description
Following the success of our Intensive Persian Summer Courses in July 2023, as well as in July and September 2024, the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade is pleased to announce the upcoming Intensive Persian Summer Course for international students, scheduled for July 2025.
This immersive 3- to 6-week program is designed to equip participants with essential Persian language skills, providing a solid foundation and empowering them to thrive from the very start of their academic and cultural journey.

Course Features
The Persian Summer School syllabus offers an immersive and intensive language learning experience, combining structured instruction with a strong emphasis on communicative, task-based learning. Designed by experienced university professors and informed by the latest pedagogical approaches, the program provides a stimulating and supportive environment that empowers participants to advance their Persian skills with confidence and clarity.
Key components of the course are highlighted in the diagram below. In addition to language acquisition, the program integrates essential aspects of Persian culture, recognizing their vital role in the learning process. Through interactive activities and thematic lectures, participants will explore both classical and contemporary Persian literature, enriching their understanding of the language’s deep cultural and historical roots.
The course aims to

- Help students achieve their individual goals in Persian proficiency.
- Learn more about Persian culture and literature through tasks and informative lectures.
Instructors and Medium of Instruction
The instructors are NATIVE Persian-speaking professors at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. The primary medium of instruction is Persian, emphasizing immersive learning. However, English is also employed as a medium, if needed, to ensure a comprehensive understanding and an effective learning experience for all students/learners.
Assessments
Before the classes start, the instructors will send a written test to all confirmed participants and will have a video call to assess their knowledge of Persian prior to the start of the program. By the end of each week, an interim exam will be organized, and at the end of the school program, the students will pass a final exam to assess their advancement.
Online Support
The course includes optional online support sessions via Zoom after the course ends if needed. The students will be added to specific groups (via social networks) to get more educational learning content and materials.
Certificate
A certificate for participation in the summer course will be issued by the Center for Persian Studies, Faculty of Philology, the University of Belgrade at the end of the course. Those who would like to get the diploma need to sit for the Persian proficiency AMFA test, which will be held at the Faculty of Philology as well (student fee).
Excursions [Farsi in Trip]
Throughout the three weeks of the International Persian Language Summer School, two educational excursions will be organised: one within the city of Belgrade and the other to the city of Novi Sad. During these excursions, we will spend time together practicing Persian speaking skills and expanding our vocabulary, expressions, idioms, and more. It promises to be a fun-filled experience! Transportation and meals during the excursion to Novi Sad are provided free of charge for participants.
Workshops
The summer school includes additional free workshops on Persian calligraphy with the pen and an introduction to Persian mythology.
The Persian Language Summer School in Belgrade will help the participants to develop Persian skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in an academic way and in a very relaxed and enjoyable environment!
Course Fee
The tuition fee is 1350 EUR for the 3-week (90-hour) Intensive Persian Language Course, 1650 EUR for the 4-week (120-hour) course, and 2650 EUR for the 6-week (180-hour) course. The fee ONLY includes lectures, learning materials, coffee breaks, and two excursions (transportation and meal). Accepted applicants are required to transfer 20% of the tuition fee via bank wire to the account of the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. Detailed payment instructions will be sent to your email upon completion of the application form and confirmation of acceptance.

Accommodation
Please note that, in general, the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Philology is NOT obligated to provide accommodation for applicants of the Persian summer school, and dormitory assignments are subject to availability. However, we will process applications upon receiving the final registration documents at least 20 days before the course begins to secure suitable accommodation at a student fee.
